It inherited the oversized beans, large leaves, and large cherries of Maragogype, along with some of Caturra's adaptability. Yields are still low by commercial standards, but meaningfully better than pure Maragogype. It's found predominantly in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Brazil, and Mexico, and performs best at 800 metres and above.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eIn the cup, Maracatu delivers bright, complex acidity with well-developed fruit and medium to medium-full body. El Salvador in particular has developed a strong reputation for the variety, producing lots with pronounced stone fruit and tropical characteristics.
